I finally opened my mouth!
I read Everyday Missionaries and absolutely loved it. I have always wanted to be better at sharing the gospel, and sometimes my efforts have been pretty clumsy.
I decided to give the principles a try, and I first invited our landscape guy and his family to come to our home and hear the missionaries. The parents speak Spanish only, and the mom had a conversation with my mom when they were visiting. She said she had friends who were members.
My mom encouraged me to go ahead and invite them so I did. I first asked the mom, and she said they would like to come and see.
Then I made a point of calling the dad because I learned on my mission to Argentina that in their culture you always go through the head of the family. He agreed and they came with their two children.
We had a wonderful dinner and discussion, and the full-time missionaries did a great job teaching. They agreed to read and pray and then came to stake conference on Sunday.
I couldn’t believe how easy it was! I simply had to open my mouth.

It is easy, right? What I love about your story is that you decided you wanted to take action, and then you did! I think part of why we succeed when we invite is that when we tell ourselves and the Lord that we’re going to do something, and then we actually do it, we’ve honored our word. Integrity is empowering!
