Being an instrument
I couple years ago I met a woman from Nimes, France online.
She mentioned she would like a Book of Mormon in French. She had an English version. It was hard for her to read and understand as she is not fluent in English. No one answered her. I told her I was a member of the church and would try if she would give me her address. She did not know me from the man on the moon but did as I requested.
I got online to request a Book of Mormon be mailed. I could not do this because the form wanted a state and a zip code and she had neither.
I then called talked to some online missionaries and asked them to send her a French Book of Mormon. They took all of her info and assured me it would happen.
I told her and she waited patiently … for 3 weeks.
I asked her if she received it and she said no. I called back and they did not know what happened but would try again.
I was due to leave for a vacation to Williamsburg, Va. The first night there I got in the hot tub and met a nice family from Salt Lake. We found out we were both members of the church. The mother of the family told me her son just went on a mission to Paris, France. So I told her about the woman I met online in need of a Book of Mormon. She said if I gave her the information she would give it to her son. We exchanged Facebook info, and I sent her the info when I got back to my room as I had it with me.
The next morning she sent me a message that she had contacted her son, and he told her, “Mom, you will never believe this, but I was just transferred to Nimes, France.”
I know now that other missionaries were not sent earlier because the Lord had this set of missionaries in mind to share the gospel with her.
I never ran into that family from Salt Lake the entire rest of our stay there. But I found out through Facebook and my friend in France that they did go and visit with her, she received her Book of Mormon and was taught.
She started going to church and has been baptized. She has stayed a very active member even though her husband and children have not joined (yet!). She messaged me about the first talk she gave and her first lesson she gave in Relief Society. She is a little online missionary posting church things on Facebook all the time!
I feel blessed to have actually been an instrument in the Lords hands long distance.
I know the church is true. Heavenly Father loves us has a plan for each one of his children. We really need to listen and follow the small promptings as we receive them. I leave this with you in the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

What I love about your experience, Sandy, is that, without saying it, you really get how important the principle of “What People Are Interested In” really is.
Once you found out what she was interested you, you aligned all of your actions to see to it that she got that very thing.
To me, that is one of the grandest expressions of love. She shared what she was looking for, and you acted and acted and acted until her desire was fulfilled.
Thank you for your example of relentless love and dedication.
I sincerely enjoyed reading your story. It was very inspirational. I shows how closely the Spirit of the Lord is to the members of this church and to others of his children who are seeking for this knowledge. Thank you for sharing your testimony.
