Set a date – follow through
I have an experience about setting goals and deadlines.
Several years ago when Elder Ballard asked us to set dates by when we’d have someone for full-time missionaries to teach, I set a date for October. I was a stake missionary at the time.
I procrastinated. I just let it ride and did not follow through.
Then in February, I took the full-time missionaries to visit the D’Onofrio family.
I introduced them and asked Brian if he would let the missionaries teach him. He readily agreed and then asked, “Why didn’t you come last fall when I was laid up with a broken leg and had lots of time?”
We had a wonderful time with the elders as they taught. Brian asked his neighbor, who was preparing to serve a mission, to baptize him.
