I asked a student to pray
I have an experience about teaching people how to pray.
As a Daily Dose service missionary, my spouse and I teach English to non-English speakers. The fourth lesson introduces the vocabulary of prayer and the four “steps” of prayer. After reading chapter 7 of Everyday Missionaries, “Teach How to Pray,” I had a renewed understanding of how important this lesson is.
This morning I taught that very lesson to two non-member students who are not (yet) being taught by full-time missionaries. It was a review lesson for one of our students, but he had never wanted to pray and I never insisted.
This morning, however, I had him write something he was thankful for and something he wanted to ask God for and asked him to go ahead and say the prayer in English. The Spirit was there!
These two students now have the tool to “ask of God.”
If you have Daily Dose missionaries in your area, get them involved teaching English to your non-English speaking friends.

Really great. Please come back and share what you find out about how prayer is making a difference in this man’s life and how it goes when you or another invites them to learn about the Church.
